This is a question quite commonly asked because many people seem to share the misconception that “Hippy” is a religion. As I am sure that you can glean from my use of the word misconception, this is in fact not true! Being a hippy does not limit your belief in any way. When you don’t quite understand something it is very easy to fill in the blanks with hearsay and nonsense but, we all do it.
As of last week (July 2019) we have started to sell the popular legal version of CBD oil. I thought to help people out I would share my personal experience with using this. Any opinions and views are mine only and do not reflect the companies opinion on this subject.
First off, what is CBD oil?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most active chemical compounds of cannabis (marijuana), there are 113 of these active ingredients found within the plant. THC is probably the most well known compound as this it the one that gives you your high when smoking marijuana. For CBD oil to be legal for sale in the UK market the amount of THC found has to be very very low, so if you are looking to get high this isn’t the stuff for you. However CBD is thought to help with many issues with studies indicating CBD helps amongst others with pain, anxiety and sleep. Continue reading My personal experience of CBD oil
There seems to be a common misconception across the globe about us hippies. More often than not, folk tend to think of us as lazy layabouts with no jobs or aspirations and think that we take from the government not earning or doing for ourselves. Well, all I can say about that is wrong, wrong and wrong again!!! Ok so there may be a percentage that are like that but that is not just hippy’s now is it. Look at the statistics, it is all people from all walks of life.. Let’s all stop with the stereotypical assumptions shall we and find some answers to the popular question – what do hippy’s do?
It is no secret that hippies absolutely adore being outside. There really is just something about the fresh air.. Not to mention the fact that the sun seems to make the majority of the population relax and seem more at ease with life. No matter what you have going on, a few minutes in the sun soaking up that much needed Vitamin D, life just gets better. Here at Hippy Clothing HQ we try to spend as much time outside as we can. It can be hard to think of things to do sometimes and so we thought that we would share some ideas with you. Here are 5 hippy things to do this summer.
First off, let’s start with what etymology means shall we. I know some have never heard the word before and it is naff when an article starts off with something that you don’t understand… Don’t worry about it though, it happens to me all the time!!
Basically it is the study of the history of words. Where they came from and how they came about and, what it means. In essence we are looking at the origin of a word and how it changes over time. For example, the word etymology itself comes from the Greek word etumología broken down into two parts. Etumon which translates to “true sense” and logia which means “the study of”.
The etymology of hippie is a tough one but I will share what I know.
The winter is coming to an end however, they (whoever they are) say that there is another cold snap a’ coming and so I wanted to share with you our top 5 hippy winter warmers to help see you through the remainder of the season. These top items of hippy clothing will not only see you through the rest of the winter but, through the rest of the year too. Even in the summer there are cold days and nights and so you will be wearing this fab clothing all through the year for many years to come.
Why is it that every time New Year rolls around everyone feels pressured into feeling that the must reinvent themselves… New hair, new diet and often a gym membership that gets paid up for the year and then only used for 1 month. Seriously, what is it about this time of year that make people think that they are inadequate human beings that they not only have to kick old habits and start new ones but, that instead of changing a few little things, I hear people saying ” a whole new me”. What was wrong with the whole old you?! Nothing that’s what!!!
Glastonbury Festival was started by founder and somerset dairy farmer Michael Eavis back in the 1970’s. Michael apparently had the idea to create a festival while watching a Led Zepplin gig at the open air festival ‘Bath Festival of Blues and Progressive Music 1970’.
The first festival that he put together was a two day event that started on September 19th 1970 which was the day after legend Jimi Hendrix died (very sad day for music lovers). The first Glastonbury festival was called the ‘Pilton Festival’ which later changed its name to ‘Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts’. The estimated attendance for the 1970 festival was around 1500 people which in today’s standard is not many at all! Continue reading The History of Glastonbury Festival

Aberdeen is a wonderful city to visit. Full of wonderful architecture and super friendly locals, it sure does make you pleased to be part Scottish. Known as Granite city due to the fact that many of its buildings contain granite. During the mid 18th century through to mid 20th century Aberdeen had a granite quarry. There is enough granite in the buildings to give them a lovely silver sparkle when the light hits them. Lovely!
