Music Festivals

A music festival is a wonderful magical thing!
Festivals are such a wonderful place to thousands of people together united in one purpose – to listen to music and to have fun. Not all festivals have thousands of people that go however, there are so very small intimate music festivals out there that allow admittance to only a few hundred people.
Most festival oriented towards music often have a theme and can be based on things such as musical genre, nationality or locality of musicians.
Most music festivals are held outdoors due to the size of space needed to host so many people.  Festivals are also inclusive of other attractions such as food and merchandise vending machines, performance art, and social activities and of course fair ground rides. Going to a festival is not always just about the music but about the experience as a whole.

There are so so many festivals and music festivals around the world, music festivals being the most popular and widely spoken bout. Having different music festivals in different countries encourages people to travel and experience new things also allowing local folk to enjoy music that they love on their own doorstep.

The Pythian Games at Delphi included musical performances, and may be one of the earliest festivals known. During the Middle Ages festivals were often held as competitions.
If you watch movies then no doubt you would have seen examples of festivals looked like in the middle ages with dancing and tournaments. If you have’t seen it, watch a Knight’s Tale. Brilliant movie.

Many festivals are annual, or repeat at some other interval. Some, including many rock festivals, are held only once. Some festivals are organized as for-profit concerts and others are benefits for a specific cause.

We adore music festivals here at Mystical Mayhem. Music is such a huge part of our lives and where we can, we try to go to as many festivals and live gigs as we can. There is nothing better than seeing a band that you like play live especially when you are with  friends. You cannot beat the feeling when the band comes on stage and all of the hairs stand up on your body, the tingling excitement! It truly is an emotional thing but so amazing! No matter where we are there is always music playing the in background.
