Now I have to say that although I love the big major festivals as they have big acts that we have all heard of and oodles of entertainment, I also love the really small random festivals such as this wonder that is The Jinney Ring Folk Festival.

The Jinney Ring Folk Festival 2017

The Jinney Ring is namely a craft centre which I just adore going to. They have so much to browse and see here that it really is a lovely place to go and visit and do a little spot of shopping. From glass blowing to chocolate shops (the choccies are amazing by the way) and from pottery to clothing, they really do have something for everyone here. Great quality products and super friendly people make it wonderful. There is even a little tea room which sells wonderful food, cakes and ice cream. In the summer you can sit out and take in the gorgeous views that are the Malvern Hills.

Although I have been to the Jinney Ring on many occasions, we have never actually made it to the folk festival which they hold every year. The reviews that I have heard are that it really is something that you should go to if you can. The bands have been carefully chosen and are brilliant. There is food available throughout the day;

Breakfast served from 9.30am – 11.45am
Lunch served from 12.00pm until 15.00pm and;
Food is available in the Farmhouse restaurant from 09.30am until 17.00pm

On the Saturday there is a BBQ that will be running from 12.30pm until 21.30pm – yummy! I have heard great things about the BBQ’a at the Jinney Ring.

Friday Night – The main guy taking the stage on the Friday is Steve Turner. Steve’s sessions will then be followed by an open mic night so take along an instrument and warm your voice if you want to take part.

Saturday Night – Saturday will see 8 bands throughout the day and into the evening all of whom I am sure will be great and ensure that everyone is on their feet dancing the day away.

Camping is available for tents, caravans and campervans so if you have it, take it along with you as the weekend tickets include camping. I am not sure however if you have to pay extra for anything other than a standard tent.

As well as the live music and great food, there will of course be a bar. I mean what festival doesn’t have a bar. The bar will be serving a whole host of ciders as in addition to the folk festival it is also the Jinney Ring Cider festival. As well as ciders there will be real ales and all of your usual beers, wines and spirits.

What more can you ask for really. Such a wonderful low cost yet high enjoyment festival which is suitable for all of the family…..
