Tribal Earth Summer Festival 2017

Hello lovelies – as you are well aware, here at Mystical Mayhem Hippy Clothing, we are huge advocates of small and intimate festivals. Why? Oh, so many reason but for starters, they are super friendly, much more intimate and although we love big name bands, we also love the smaller not so well known bands. Not to mention that the majority are just wonderful for taking the whole family to.

We have a great one to tell you about this time – Tribal Earth Summer Festival. This is a pretty special festival I have to say and is a festival that we are super excited about.
We were told about this festival by one of our customers who is a volunteer and she asked us if we could help spread the word and so here goes……

What makes Tribal Earth such a special festival?? Let me give you a little background;

This year marks Tribal Earth’s 20th year – some of the things that have been said about Tribal Earth is that it is a wonderful community focused festival and that the atmosphere year on year is 2nd to none for its supportiveness and friendliness. Many people feel safe in attending this festival alone as they know that they will meet so many people that will welcome them into their group. Sounds super hippy if you ask me 🙂

There really is something for everyone here from tiny tykes through to fully grown up adults. With workshops galore, endless music, kids area’s and even silent disco’s, what more could you ask for in a festival.

When I said that this is a small festival, I was not kidding. Tribal Earth is what we call a boutique festival. Small in numbers but big in experience. The Tribal Earth Summer Festival only allows around 500 people  in so, I would get your tickets while you can. This year is going to be amazing as they really are spoiling their festival goers.

Set in the heart of East Sussex, the scenery at Tribal Earth is wonderful as it overlooks the south downs which are just stunning.
Over the 4 days you really can immerse yourself in so much and try something new. Boasting over 30 bands and artist performing such wonderful and intimate sets. Over 80 workshops for you to try out. They have shows galore, a professionally run kids area for those that need a break, sauna’s, cafes and even stalls. It’s not a festival without some stalls for you to look through.

The music – there is such an eclectic mix at this year’s festival from Kalakuta a 12 piece afrobeat band through to the hilarious rapping skills of Professor Elemental. This year you are in for a right treat as they even have a Tibetan Hip Hop group Blackmore 1348 who will have with them some very special guests – Tibet Monks from Tashi Lhunpo monastery in Mysore. Wow!

Workshops – you will not get bored at this festival of that I am certain. The folk really outdo themselves here.
Always wanted to learn some poi, fire hoop or the staff well now you can, they have workshops for all here.
There are several different types of Yoga workshops available from beginners through to laughter yoga which sounds amazing and like so much fun.
Lots of different dance classes from belly dancing to Indian dancing and pretty much anything else you would want to try. These really are just a few of what is on offer.

All of this sounds great right, however I have not yet mentioned what makes this festival really special.

Tribal Earth Summer Festival is organised and run purely by volunteers. This is a massive job and must really take some seriously dedicated folk. Serious is what they are and let me tell you why.
The profits from Tribal Earth are donated to the Pegasus Children’s Project in Nepal.
The Pegasus Children’s Project which helps homeless and sometimes orphaned children in Nepal. The help that they are able to offer them is  with education and housing. They currently house over 110 children so it really is a worthwhile cause.
You can check out more about the Pegasus Children’s project from their website – click here or click here for their Facebook page.

I hope that some of you manage to get tickets as I am sure that you will have a wonderful experience!
